Waco Chesterton Society – Society of Gilbert Keith Chesterton
The Apostolate of Common Sense

Waco Chesterton Society

The Waco Chesterton Society meets the last Tuesday or Thursday of each month, or some other day of the month altogether. All are welcome, from those new to Chesterton’s writings to bonafide G.K. Chesterton scholars, and everyone in between. Meeting location varies, but typically we will be found in a local pub; we believe Uncle G.K. would want it that way.

Favorite past events include our annual Chesterton Christmas Party, with thanks to the Denver Chesterton Society from whom we inherited the tradition, and our author head-to-head nights. Last year we pitted Chesterton’s Father Brown against Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes, and this year we will be comparing Chesterton’s style and humor to that of Douglas Adams, author of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.

Between these themed events, we will be reading, discussing, and debating our way through Chesterton’s Orthodoxy, beginning in August 2018.
