The American Chesterton Society has a prison ministry that we have been running for about 10 years. Through membership donations, we are able to connect incarcerated men and women with G.K. Chesterton. As one of our members put it, we are “fitting the fat man through thin bars.” Many of our prison members have seen the Apostle of Common Sense show on EWTN and written to see if there is any way they could receive a membership. We often get letters describing how Chesterton has touched their lives and how the membership ends up being not only for them, as they share it with any of the other prisoners who are interested.
1-Year US prisoner membership entitles the prisoner to receive our flagship publication, Gilbert, the print magazine published every eight weeks by The American Chesterton Society. When we are able, we also send slightly damaged or used books to prisoners (most prisons will not accept brand new books).
We will match your prisoner membership donation to a prisoner who has requested a membership. If you personally know a prisoner that you would like to give a membership to, please put their information in the notes section at checkout.
The American Chesterton Society is a non-profit corporation established under Paragraph 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Tax Code.
