About the Laughing Prophet: The Seven Virtues and G.K. Chesterton. Emile Cammaerts wrote this book on Chesterton in 1937, a year after the death of his dear friend, G.K. Chesterton. Cammaerts’ thesis is that Chesterton “made the Christian virtues shine with the sparkle of his wit.” 

In his foreword, Dale Ahlquist writes, “Cammaerts’ book is unique in Chesterton literature because he combines the use of Chesterton’s writings, an analysis of his thinking, and personal, first hand stories that give a more revealing and complete presentation of the whole man—and perhaps the saint—in a way no other author ever did.”
